R.A. Rasmussen Onions

Utah Onions, Inc. is the exclusive sales agent for the R.A. Rasmussen & Sons, Inc. onion crop. We pack 25lb. and 50lb. sacks of yellow, red and white onions. We also can pack 40lb. and 50lb. cartons for special orders.  Rasmussen's red onions are Rumba, Mercury, and Red Wing varieties. Yellow varieties include the Cowboy, Candy and Calibra.

We have finished our over-wintered onion season.

The spring seeded crop will start in late July. We will then continue shipping onions until we are finished with our off-the-field crop in mid October.  R.A. Rasmussen can pack and ship close to 12 -14 loads a day. This makes us one of the largest onion shippers in Washington during our season.

In the field the onion tops and roots are clipped before being put into bins.  The bins are moved from the field to the curing area.

Our new onion curing station uses high powered fans to pull air through the bins of onions to cure the onions.  Curing time is 3-4 days.
